April 1, 2019 (no fooling)

I don't watch regular TV but I do watch You Tube. Recently I came across some really cute animated features that I wanted to share. It isn't often you find something that the whole family can watch and enjoy!

Futurikon is an independent company out of France. They have been in production since 1996. They specialize in the production and international sales of animated programs, feature films, and documentaries. What I came across was the animated series called Minuscule. That's right, tiny things. The animation is so well done you feel like you are one of the characters in the film. I will leave a sample below:

Many of their films are shorts! I did fine one movie over an hour long. Once you access one of their shorts, many other will come up in the search and you can see for yourself the variety of films.

Hope you check it out and enjoy!

Late posting today but fun time out at the park. We went to an activity park where there were various things for the kids to climb on, swing on and the weather was wonderful. My two granddaughters, Marissa and Desiree had fun sharing time with a new friend, Zoiey they met today. Zoiey is just a little over two and was having a ball on the slide. She also got some help on the swings with Marissa. I must say I enjoyed being outside, sun shinning and no snow! It was fun having Zoiey around because at two years old, she knows how to really enjoy new things.

Thanks, Zoiey, thanks Marissa and Desire...

I like to paint and usually work in watercolors. Today I thought I would try a picture of my friend's wiener dog, Sugar, in oil. The pic over all isn't bad but I still need to get the color more to a light chocolate brown.

Oil is not a favorite since you do need a cleaner for your brushes and then you have to have some way to dispose of the residue, bummer!

The other downfall is drying time Given the weather has been in the high 30s, and it snowed and rained, it will be awhile for it dries. However, not to disappointed with this first try. This also makes me appreciate working in watercolors, ha, ha!

Are you like me...where did March go? I mean, it just got started and now, it almost has ended. Wow!

Well, for today, I want to rant about vitamins. I just took a few and then I will later take a few more. There is the A, Bs, C, D, E not sure about an F, G, H, I, J? K is good. I take calcium, potassium, magnesium, and a whole shelf more.

And they say you better get the best as some of these vitamins do not dissolve in our system. I shop at Walmart because now that is all I can afford. I went to a nutritionist once and was on a special regiment but I could not afford that anymore. I am not sure it helped that much. I don't really eat improperly...I like vegetables, fruit, protein, eggs, don't drink a lot of milk but do like sweets.

So, maybe it is the sugar that zaps the source of energy I am suppose to get from all of these vitamins? Any input out there???

What is your rant today?

I know this will be a sensitive post but I am going to do it anyways. Sometimes when we hear information and we feel we need to share, we need to go for it. It is up to the reader or viewer to decide to research it for more information. I ran across a gentlemen by the name of Bill Warner (pen name), whose real name is Bill French. He is a former physics professor with Tennessee State University. What is interesting is his study of Islam. Mostly, his study as to the development of Islam and how it has progressed over the years. He speaks to the politicalism and radicalism of Islam.

Bill, on the attached video, shows a map of the progression of Islam over centuries and how they have taken over areas by migration and also by annihilation of groups of people. Should we be concerned about our beloved USA, I think so. Here is the video:

Mr. Warner talks about the history of Islam. If you want to know more, I encourage you to give him a look. His Web site is:

I am get old! Thought I just did a post here, but I guess I didn't save it. Here we go. I painted a picture for a friend; she wants elephants, which I have never done before so I gave it a go. What is exciting is that we took it in Saturday for framing and will pick it up this week. Got a beautiful frame 1/2 off and some exciting matting to go inside. I can hardly wait to see the results.

Labels! That is what is on my mind today. Because we are in a society where if you have or act differently from that what is considered the norm (label), you must fall into a label category. I am not saying that some of this is not necessary, but I wonder if we are not doing ourselves an injustice. We have folks who have ADHD, autism, anxiety disorder, speech disorder, depression, mood disorder, narcolepsy (which my husband had most of his adult life), Asperger's (which made me think of labels), and I am sure there are many, many more.

When I was a kid (born in 1945), my brother (born in 1940), was labeled mentally retarded (not a nice thing to be called back then). He had trouble in school, could not read, could not write and always giving my mother grief. So my dad ended up becoming self-employed (which was easier to do back then) and my brother always stayed and helped my dad. The system could not figure what to do for my brother. They did try giving support with a special teacher, schooled at home, but that only lasted a short time as she died in a car accident. My brother would never sit still, ran away (not far) a couple of time so dad was his only hope. Today he probably would have been labeled ADHD and put on drugs.

It wasn't easy for mom and dad but they did what they knew they had to do, and that was be a parent and take care of the child. I believe today, too many want someone else to take care of the problem.

My brother taught himself just about everything he wanted to. He could roller skate (jump, flip, the whole bit), swim, play an instrument, everyone liked him, ride a horse, on and on! He was given by the Lord what man could not help with.

So, what is my point? Let us not get to wrapped up in labels but look closely to the individual and their needs and how they can progress past the label. I am not a doctor or nurse but a human being who lives with two very different needs persons.

Just one persons opinion about life and the label situation.

I was just remembering today that in 1968, my husband and myself got to try out for the Newly Wed Game. We were married December 16, 1967 and the show had been on just barely a year. We went to a Los Angeles studio and were in a setting similar to the one on Television. The first episode of the Newly Wed Game aired July 11, 1966.

We were in a group setting, if I remember correctly; four couples and the host wasn't the original host, Bob Eubanks, but someone they used to work with try outs. The questions were similar and I remember we shared a lot of laughs. It was fun and exciting. We did not get selected for a TV appearance, however. So my TV career was cut short, ha, ha.

For all of you young folks that don't know what the Newly Wed Game is, I have posted a blooper below:

The final episode aired February 14, 2013

My age would give me away as to what I loved about TV when I watched it in the 60s. What's My Line was a favorite. Interesting people from all walks of life were on the show and a panel had to guess what occupation these people held. The panel, were usually consistent but occasionally they had one different person on the panel, usually a well know actor or celebrity of some sort. One regular that stood out was Dorothy Kilgallen. Dorothy was a well know reporter, I mean, many know who she was and she was well respected by many. She had covered some of the top criminal cases ever held, such as The Sam Shepard case and had interviewed Jack Ruby, the only one to do so. So, when I found out that Dorothy was found dead and many thought it was murder, it really caught my eye.

Recently, I ran across a video about Dorothy's life and death. I learned in this video that the man being interviewed (Mark Shaw) wrote a book about it and, for myself, I am going to track down the story so I can read it. It is called, "The Reporter Who Knew To Much". If any of you are interested in the video, I will place a link below.

https://youtu.be/nvpkE29X3tM

One other interesting factor is that Dorothy personally knew John F. Kennedy. He had visited at Dorothy's home and had made a strong impression on her and her son and when Dorothy had heard that JFK was shot and died, she vowed to find out the truth. Most likely, the truth got her killed.

Hope you enjoyed the post!

SPRING IS HERE

Spring is here, Spring is here
The birds say so, the calendar states it so
I feel like there must be some place I must go.

Spring is here, Spring is here
Buds are appearing, the bees are buzzing
I feel like there must be some place I must go.

For some Spring make one want to sleep
I want to move, go somewhere; maybe the sea
Watch the water ripple, watch the clouds move.

Maybe because winter has kept me in
Kept me from the breeze that Spring brings on
Kept from the warmth of the shinning sun

Spring is here, Spring is here
The birds say so, the calendar states it so
I feel like there must be some place I must go.
Spring is here, Spring is here and I am where I must be.
