The first time I ever heard of a Virtual 5K, I scoffed! I said, "What? Is it like a video game? Do I log the collective number of miles I swiped on my phone?" Lol, I think that's the writer in me, taking a simple phrase and turning it around and upside down. *Hysterical**Rolling* Now that I know what it is, I've got the fever! I can't wait to contribute to various charities and at the same time collect some sweet medals, all the while staying in great shape! By the way, they've got some pretty interesting medals, nowadays, and they're HUGE!! I've got that fire!!

"Blog City Prompt Forum
Prompt: “Nothing changes. The bones of the mammoths are still in the earth,” says Adrienne Rich in her poem, End of an Era. What are your thoughts on what she says?

What I feel from this message, says something more than 'nothing changes.' Because things are changing all the time. How we develop and evolve as humans are constantly changing, as is our environment, our DNA, and the space-time continuum. 'The bones of the mammoth are still in the Earth,' because that's where they belong. A time long forgotten, buried under millions of years of change. How is that not change? The fact that mammoths no longer exist seems like a huge change to me. They were unable to adapt to their environment in order to survive, but we were. We changed, and continue to change. It's kind of like how they say that a man can never change, which I don't believe that either. Men change, especially when it comes to how they see themselves, perhaps realizing they are inferior. Change is all around, the bones have been laid to rest, unmoved due to the nature of change, yet even in their resting place the bones are changing still, solidified and preserved by sediment; their chemical nature continues to change, and will change forever until the end of time.

"Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum
Prompt: "When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition of winter, but then, winter, will be forced to relent, once again, to the new beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring." Madeleine M. Kunin
Use this quote to inspire your blog entry.

I think rhythm is the most important word in the segment. The seasons keep their rhythm regardless if the trees egress into hibernation, or if the sun becomes further away causing the environment to chill, animals to hibernate. It keeps going, as it has for millions of years. And, as I said in the previous response, it will continue to change, forever. Well, forever is a mighty long time, and for all we know the world could end tomorrow. But most likely it won't. It'll keep it's rhythm, as it has for as long as we know. All we can really do is try to stay warm, enjoy the company we have, and wait for springs warm and blossoming and sweet embrace! We begin again, even though we never ended.
