Psalm 90:10, "The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty if we are strong....
Three Score and Ten the Introduction,

Well here we go, After 50 years I am going to take another attempt at writing. The first time was the Palmer writers correspondence school in 1969. The writing will be not a book that will be written with the idea of being published, But will be a writing of thoughts unencumbered by possible publishing and monetary gain. This writing will be a hybrid of Journal and Reminisce. It is important to me that the writings are my true thoughts at the time, not influenced by any factor. The writing will try to explain how a 70 year old white, male USA citizen now relates to today's world. Is every oldest generation lost in their own world, that they aged into? What do I see, and feel as I age farther. I know I am not normal as in what this world today would consider normal. But I hope I am in the ball park writing the thoughts of a 70 year old. I hope for you to learn to know who I am, As I search for Who I am at 70+ This work will carry on until I am no longer able to think or write. This will be done on a nearly daily writing interwoven with a life's reminiscing. This writing has been in the planning for 10 plus years. and I have now made it to this starting point. This writing is dedicated to My Wife The Kitten, My family, My grand children, Lukas, Levi, Luis, Lydia and Sonora Pearl. I thank you God that you have allowed me to have your Three Score and Ten Time.

I had a more restful morning, I did some gluing of books, and reading. It was on my to do list to write, so here I am. it has been difficult to write this evening. I picked up my auction winnings with some disappointment. But I bid without out actually viewing other then the images. So I take it on the chin sometimes. But know I am down, Sometimes I do not know why, Maybe I do. I collect and repair and sell some, Back Issue magazines. I have always found value knowing the past and learning from it. At times looking at old magazine issues from the 50's and 60's can depress me. What has happened since the WW2. As I look back and view the past it seems to me we have not improved anything, our Culture, Civility or Society wise. When you are aware of the past and what was, and know look at the present and what looks like the future it is depressing. Are we circling the drain? The younger people need to know things were not always as they are now. Things are possible to be better. If you search you inner being carefully you will know where it starts, It starts with us and a belief in God. God Bless Us All

It is again too long between writing, Every time I turn around it is another week gone. The trip north went well, I had a good visit with my cousin. I did get some line fence work done, mostly marking and signs posted for the deer season up coming. My nephews only hunt the farm and it needs to stay that way. my one nephews son got a nice size buck this year during the early youth hunt. He was one excited young hunter. His proper name is Hunter. Then we had our little get together for our now 80 year old neighbor, It went well. I think she was pleased. Then we drained our water system for the season. When we go up during the cold we only refill the cold water leaving the hot water drained. It is much simpler to fill and re- drain the cold water only. The biggest problem was my heart during the first night, I think I got over tired. I take limited medication for A-Fib. Me getting over tired can cause problems. The time change most likely did not help. But now to more recent news.

We are getting thing ready for winter here, Weather stripping doors, and Caulking. We are now also raking leaves and filling our leave compost operation. There is still Brussel Sprouts to pick one more time and Garlic and Strawberries to cover. We work to have things buttoned up here by Thanksgiving which is appropriate.

We will be in this old Queen Ann house 24 years in January. which is the longest either one of us has been in any one location. I never planned to be here this long. we had planned to move north 10 years ago. We could not do it. For us it would have been to stressful and would have been a bad choice. Now we will stay here till the end but I will not let the place fall down around us. Our kids and grandkids will need to carry us out. but I do worry about the upkeep here. The future will be interesting but also scary. Now onto weather stripping.

I hope you are having a Blessed Day

Three Score and Now Eleven + Day 83

It is Nov 8 and very nice out, Went out in the Kayak Fishing, A first for a November day. It is normally out with the ice fishing shack in November. Only caught one crappie but sure was nice to be out this late in season. The months sure fly by now, It seems every time I turn around I am paying utilities. But I guess the alternative is not good either. We are closing in on our seasonal outdoor do list. If the weather holds for a bit longer and nothing new pops up we should close soon.

We are leaving for the north again tomorrow. I want to do some line fence work. Then I want to visit a cousin, she is about 3 years older then me. I would think we will have a lot to talk about after all this water is though the dam since out childhood. I pray it goes well. Then we are having a small get together for our next door neighbor. She will be 80 years old om Wednesday, quit a mild stone. I would say living 80 years in this world is an accomplishment to be celebrated. Then return on Friday and finish up outside. Have Blessed Week All

Three Score and Now Eleven + Day 75
Dear Grandsons & Other Readers
Today is a special day for me, no not Halloween, It is October 31. What so special you ask. For me it is the end of the growing season. yes there are a few incidentals to do in the garden but the season is over. The veggies are all stored for the winter season. The lawn mower and tiller are put away for the winter season. The paint cans are put away and the paint brushes are hung with care. The Flea Markets are over till next spring. I will turn the heat on this evening before the coming hard freeze. I may be able to get out with the Kayak fishing one more time next weekend.

So now what? I concentrate on the internet sales business and on reading and hopefully still learning something new. Then there will be accounting to do, I do more then I would have to do, but it is something I have always done and need to do. Did we reach this years goals? The next two months will tell. Then I will dream and plan for another Outside Season. I will need to remain optimistic that it will arrive once more for me. you guys have a lot of coming outside seasons coming, Me not so many.

Have a blessed Day Grandsons & All of You,

Three Score and Now Eleven + Day 68

Another week has started and I wonder what it will bring. There is much to do outside if I am able to do it. But it is an end to a season that will never come this way again. When fall turns cold and then turns to winter I get depressed. For me the time passing is important to observe. I have always had a awareness of time and its place in our lives. The time period we call today is near gone, to be lost between Beginning and End. We need to learn to life in harmony with our allotted time to led and end a successful life. I always say you need to know when to get out of the creek. You need to plan for the stages of life, Everything in it correct order and time and place, Harmony with your surroundings the best you can.

But what is time? God has given us humans a way to track and observe events, It is for only our benefit. God has provided us with regular movements of heavenly structures which has provide us with what we need to track what we call time. Time can only be recalled somewhat by our recordings of past events. For me knowing the past and relating it to the present is important. I earn to now past times, Some where between being and end.

Dear Grandsons

The days grow short and cool now until Jack Frost pays us a visit. He is later this year for us. He must be busy else where. Just take your time Jack. We will do just fine without you showing up. I still have painting to do. I have to lift weed and reset the brick walkway. The van needs some body repair done and there is roto tilling to do. Yes, Jack we do not miss you. but I do now you will arrive and stay for months. It can be depressing, so I do want to be ready for your arrival. We will work to keep you out of the house even if it costs more this winter. The house remains our sanctuary even if we keep it cool. I will admit that some of Jack's activities can be pretty and He does make it possible to Ice Fish. BUT I will be here dreaming about a new spring which will push Jack to the far north where he belongs. And God's cycle will start over once more.

Dear Grandsons
I was planning to do weeding and yard work today, But know it is raining earlier then I had hoped. We no need rain, But when I am ready, Ha Ha Ha. So I will do internet work until it decides to stop. We did get some weeding done. And I did get some spring flower bulbs planted, Winter Aconite which flowers very earl spring. I have had some planted, But it was two sparse, so I added to the planting.

Tomorrow I am hoping to do some kayak fishing with Grandma. I will most likely be our final time out this year, down year. She has not been out kayak fishing this summer or fall. We will go to a lake not too far that I fished in the spring with some success.

Next week we will go north and I hope to kayak fish an afternoon for most likely the last time this season. I will cut some firewood, and do some splitting and stacking. The days are getting short, It is mostly dark down here at 5:30 now, But still no frost here or up north. The winter draws near and so I need to think about next spring. The winter can be depressing for me.
Have a Blessed Day Everyone

Dear Grandsons

We got back from the north woods today, so I am tired. it was a good visit. I did get firewood cut, the chain saw worked as it should. I was somewhat concerned if it would. I pinched it in a tree badly the last visit and thought I might have bent the chain bar getting it out. There is still some cutting to do the next time we are up there. But the worst is finished, All but the splitting and stacking. You guys know where I am writing of.

Then I went fishing an afternoon after loading my brothers tractor on my trailer for him to take in for repairs. The tractor has a large front loader on it and it was not starting condition. It made for an interesting time loading. But back to the fishing. I had to use the kayak as the water was is too low to put a boat in. The body of water is a flowage and as such the water level fluctuates with the seasons. They drop the water level in the fall. But my brother and I did catch some fish, Very Large Crappies. I wish you guys would have been there. I had enough for two good meals of fish. My brother had about the same. BUT he use two poles from his little John Boat

Now it is on to getting ready for our last Flea Market of this season on Sunday. The weather looks like it will be good, Dry and not to warm. Now to decide what items have a chance of selling. We keep about three Flea Market inventories to pick from. The last Flea Market is kind of sad. It will be six months before we see our fellow Fleas. But is is a time to rest and reorganize, and if God willing be ready for another season.

I wanted to make note here. This is the latest I have seen a frost up north in my lifetime. The north woods Wisconsin is my beginning home. It has not frosted up there yet. The normal frost time there is about September 10-20. Maybe we are balancing out with the cold late spring.
Please all have a Blessed Evening.

We are having a different kind of week this week. We are actually doing some short day trips. Yesterday we took in a antique mall and a stroll about a small town. Today we took in a museum in a different small town. And tomorrow we hope to take in another museum. We are trying to be within a six hour time window. We are not taking the Little Dog so that is about how long the wife is comfortable leaving the little Biscuit. We have hoped to do day trips for the last two years, but it never seems to work out.

We have been planning this week of trips for some time as a little celebration of our 25th anniversary. The anniversary was September 8 and it has taken this long to get this far. The wife has not been making a meal also, and after eating some bad expensive take out I am very Thankful that she is a great meal maker. Next week is back to the north, There is wood to make and hopefully fish to catch. Then maybe another day trip the following week. But the days are getting shorter and the do list is still abundant. But now it is getting late, so have a Blessed Evening

I have been wanting to write all day, but other things went ahead. It is only 4:30, Had my main meal of the day Zucchini Fritters and and a radish sandwich along with cottage cheese. It was good but now I have fallen asleep for a half hour. That never used to happen. I would eat and run again. With no time to fall asleep. My how the years have changed things.

At the north location last week we did get the To Do List done plus a few extras. We got close to a freeze up there. We still have some flowers I would like to see one more time before freeze. We put the hummingbird feeders away for the season. We purchased one new feeder as a replacement feeder for next year, How is that for optimism. We now put out Bird seed and Suite at this time. Next up for the north, wood cutting. We like popular wood as it does not burn so hot. We only heat with wood in the evenings and let the fire go out when we turn in, But it can get to hot with hardwoods. But we cut more wood cleaning up the woodlot then what we use in a season. We do not go up enough in the winter to burn a lot of wood. I am having a hard time dealing with the snow up there now. It is all I can do to handle the snow down here. So we will go up until the snow gets to deep for me to handle.

As the weather cools down here I will start painting work on the garage. It is revealing how long a project takes me now. I am trying to hire some help for the garage paint. After the roofer this summer I am a little gun shy. I figure I have about 6 weeks of decent painting weather left. I should be able to see it done.

I have an internet auction going off tonight. I does not look good for me at this time with my bids.

Guys, Turn off the chicken coop light!
I will write again soon, Take care all
