*Music2* I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Here I go again, here I go again
Though I keep searching for an answer
I never seem to find what I'm looking for
Oh, Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on *Music2*

Artist: Whitesnake
Album: Saints And Sinners (1982)
Genre: Blues/Hard Rock
Vocals: David Coverdale

This song is old. Wonderful though, I got memories of being a little girl hearing my father listen to this and I guess I grew up with Whitesnake.

Long hair. Ballets, sexy men. I had it good growing up. I have always listened to this band and this is the song that stuck with me the most. Right up there with Cher, and Jackson. Dreamy looking, the car, gosh! and a the guitar run. This kind of me sticks. They don't make it like this today and I am very stuck in those days. I had long hair in high school, my exe was very long. Everyone listened to this, and I've been to a few weddings this was used too. This warms me, I can just listen to it no matter where I'm at, the car, work, walking, laying in bed.

*Music2* Sick is the mind of the motherf***in' kid that's behind
All this commotion, emotions run deep as oceans, explodin'
Tempers flarin' from parents, just blow 'em off and keep goin'
Not takin' nothin' from no one, give 'em hell long as I'm breathin'
Keep kickin' ass in the morning and takin' names in the evenin'*Music2*

Artist: Eminem (Slim Shady)
Album: The Eminem Show (2002)
Genre: Rock/Rap/Hardcore Hip Hop

I don't have a good relationship with my mother. This rapper got me through my son's death, I just listened all day every day. In Your Face! bitter rap. I am still sad and upset about my son's death, and feel I will be as long as we're involved in court. Slim Shady gets me through the upset and the pain. This song he rants about his mom, then apologies during the chorus. Talks about things he couldn't deal with before. Acting out as children cause we're misunderstood. It's relatable to me and I imagine so many other people.

Emotional abuse changes you, you become someone else, someone who believes that abuse. I believe the only thing we can do as parents is love our kids, and love them no matter what. I understand everyone including myself isn't perfect but love by itself is perfect. We act out when we feel squashed and tied up.

*Music2* The world was on fire and no one could save me, but you
It's strange what desire could make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you *Music2*

Artist :Lusaint (Lucy Hopkins)
Album: Wicked Game (2021)
Genre: Pop

This is the newest song I have liked. Haunting. Truly. The range of her vocals are mystifying and a wonderful listen.

Wait for it.

Crazy she can sing. I'm not normally a fan of romantic songs of any type but this is just wow! I can hear a slight accent which is neat and then she goes to the high pitches and it's just great. I know not the best word usage but simply put this is awesome. I get all willy inside and I think anyone who has found love will relate. They're scared and happy at one time, it is a wicked thing. This song she falls in love with a married man. It's a remake of Chris Iaask famous song from 1989. I have heard his version but enjoy Lusaint's version better its not that country twang that he has, and no background vocals. Although his version is original and the musicians sound better. Her version is her voice. Like I said not a fan of this type of song but this really touches me, I think it's because my ex ended bad. So slow, so well sung, I just had to share, now back to the grunge.

*Music2* Well, life has a funny way
Of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay
And everything's going right
And life has a funny way
Of helping you out
When you think everything's gone wrong
And everything blows up in your face

Artist: Alanis Morissette *CountryCA*
Genre: R&B Soul/Metal/Alternative
Album: Jagged Little Pill (1995)
Awards: Juno Award for best Single (1997)
MTV Award for Music Best New Artist (1996)
MTV Award for Music Award for Best Female Vocals (1996)
Much Music Fan Award for Favorite Video (1996)
and two more.

This is always in my head, especially when I get flustered. I see people getting annoyed and more times than not, I'm mention this song in some from. Its a sweet song, one that I can sing with no problem, Tune stays in my head, and I adore that she's Canadian, and still active today although I'm not sure how popular. The video shows it's age, but the simple melody takes me away. I can remember being a teenager when I hear in on the radio, back when used to put tapes in, record the radio and try not to catch the news announcements. I had the poster for this alum, and it's something I've never ever seen anywhere else. She has a great voice, very kind and carry some great vocal ranges. I had a hard time picking one song as she has a few I enjoy, and I'm more towards male vocals.

Song: Broken
Artist: Seether and Amy Lee
Album: Disclaimer (2002)

*Music2* I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I want to hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph, and I know it serves me well
I want to hold you high and steal your pain *Music2*

I've saw Seether four times live. Once they were an opening act and the other times they were the highlight. The only band I've ever saw that the lead vocals sounded the same as in my home. The video shows Amy Lee at that time girlfriend of vocals Shaun Morgan. Vocals had written the song for leaving his daughter with his x wife. These two together are great! It was featured in the movie The Punisher(2004) which I also enjoy.

*Music2* And you bring me to my knees
Again
All the times that I could beg you please
In vain *Music2*

Artist:Staind
Album:Break the Cycle(2001)
Genre: Hard Rock/Pop
Lead Vocals: Aaron Lewis

Nu-Metal sounding, a mix of grunge and ballet. I heard this when I was in the hospital with Jordan, and though he is my second child, my marriage was hard at that time and I felt very alone. I can remember holding him as a baby and just patting my feet to the beat as he slept only a few hours old. I had mixed feelings at that time and should of listened to my gut, as I learned to do later in life. The video is crazy trippy is a way, the guy peeking through the wall feeling so alone.

I never really though about music this much till I started this, and I want to Thank You Jeff it very creative and gives me a chance to self reflect. This song is great. It takes a good vocals to carry such a low tone moody lyrics, like he's crying while singing. The guitar sticks out, and I seem to enjoy songs with good string and piano. I don't want to say though I know anything about music only I know what I like, and can hear certain instruments.

"I can see through you" *Music1* I could see through my kids father at this time and this song reflects so much of that. I get chills so moving it can be if I'm in the right mood. Not a song if you suffer from depression.

Enjoy! *Delight*

When I find a song, that I feel I understand what they're singing and hopefully might sing along are so great. It's sad that in the end the band members disbanded to disagreements in producers, and lead vocals was left to himself and send out, during this he wrote Blurry. The feelings of being scooped up with a band you don't know and preform. Have a fantastic use of piano and guitar. Good old Spotify. I find I am much more a fan of heavy music, or at least that's how I see it. Subject matter, and feelings for this and I totally relate, sometimes I do feel Blurry. Band was created in 1992 by lead vocals/rhythm guitar Wes Scantlin.

This is on my daily listen list. I just like it so much. Songs that have guitar solos, warm my toes, just make me wanna curl up in my own space and be there next to them as they string away. I get goosebumps, that being said though it's up to the early 2000's that this happens in rock/grunge/rock ballets/and heavy. I know more but these genres are what I gravitate towards later in life, and more as I learn to live with the death of my youngest son, and find happiness in music, as sad as the song may be, they help me, and I enjoy this song a lot.

*Music1* Can you take it all away
When you shoved it in my face *music*
Lyric

This never gets old. I get so moody when I listen to it, I recognize it no matter where I hear it. The vocals are a mix of angry and awareness. Getting out of that bad relationship. I think with so much mental Health issues today, songs like this are more important now than ever. People just don't know how others feel, music makes that gap for me.

*Music2* Then you'll know what's it really like*Music2*

Fantastic video. Says so much about the human struggles and how we view each other, and how often we are wrong. So easy to sing, and I relate so much to it, I always do. We see people, and judge them often without realizing we actually are, and this song pegs that perfectly. I love songs like this, somewhat a sad look at society but a honest one, I expect more so in big cities, but relevant for me too. I had my oldest in my last year of high school, remember what it was like. The mix of mellow rap and classic guitar is so fantastic. I can sit in my car and just bob and rock to it. It tells stories of certain "society" choices, and gives empathy to them. Songs like this are powerful, and I hope no one forgets them.

One not subtle, one not on the list
Send away for a perfect world
One not simply, so absurd
*Music2*
Lyrics

Album: Leave A Whisper
Released: 2003
Genres: Metal/Rock

Band:
Brent Smith - Lead Vocals
Brad Stewart - Bass
Barry Kerch - Drums, Percussion
Jason Todd - Guitar

Released during the "grunge" movement, it wasn't successful at first, but after marketing and touring and other bands like Seether, and Puddle Of Mudd, and the two-dimensional sound carries from song to song. Brooding and Positive, it's crazy how many feelings this song can stir up.

It's a very popular song now, and gained it status because people felt like it a was about accepting suicide. I agree I was one of them when I first heard it. "Staring down the barrel of a 45" It's crazy moving. anyone who is struggling with depression or lose, or PTSD, or just want a great guitar run will appreciate this song. The video for it is also powerful, and I can just so relaxed listening to the acrostic version. Singer Brent Smith is amazing and when it was first realized lines were changed. His vocal range is crazy! So many memories come to the surface. 45 is the world, and it's like waking up and looking in the mirror and not liking yourself, but somehow moving to place where you do.

In fact the song is more about accepting who your truly are, more for the LGBTQIA community; really anyone who feels misunderstood. I love this song, listen to it daily and can honestly say it makes me feel understood. My sadness and happiness comes out and so many millions appreciate it too. I saw a video once of the band live, and Brent explained what inspired the sing, and that heartbreaking in itself. We need songs like this, classic grunge, brooding and emotional. The video is relevant today, as it shows the singer in difficult moments. I found this through Spotify later in life, and missed out a lot of years with just a powerful song. I know this song is enjoyed still today

So many sings from this band, hit home with me. This is my favorite ever, so it's Number 1.
