*Music2* I'm alone, yeah, I don't know if I can face the night
I'm in tears and the cryin' that I do is for you
I want your love
Let's break the walls between us
Don't make it tough
I'll put away my pride
Enough's enough
I've suffered and I've seen the light

Artist: Aerosmith
Album: Permanent Vacation(1987) "oh my goodness"
Genre: Rock/Glam Metal/Blues Rock/Ballet
Lead Vocals: Steven Tyler
Songwriter: Desmond Child
Steven Tyler
Drums: Joey Kramer
Bass Guitar: Tom Hamilton
Rhythm Guitar: Brad Whitford

This is one great band for truly romantic love songs, and easy on the eyes. The emotion in this song knocks the socks right off, and it still plays on the local radio stations here. Loving someone and getting in a fight and wanting that love again, in the doghouse so to speak. A relationship going cold which I think a lot do and that's why so many like this.

This is apparently the best selling rock band ever, selling over 150 million copies. Aerosmith formed in 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts. This was released on Guitar Hero, and I played it with my boys, part why it's stuck to me still today. I can remember having the game on in the kids bedroom, all three on the floor with me, and me nailing this song, oh my happy kids.

*Music2*They shot a movie once, in my hometown
Everybody was in it, from miles around
Out at the speedway, some kind of Elvis thing
Well, I ain't no movie star… *Music2*

Artist: The Tragically Hip (The Hip) *CountryCA*
Songwriters: Rob Baker
Gord Downie
Album: Up to Here(1989)
Lead vocals: Gord Downie
Strings: Gord Sinclair
Rob Baker
Drums: Johnny Fay
Genre: Folk/Rock

I love this band, saw them live six times, and remember every one. I've been listening to Gord all my life, I love his twang, country like voice but not country. That folk rock sound. You just feel this, his voice is one of kind, clear easy to understand but that wonderful accent, and it isn't Canadian. "laugh" This band rose to number one and I'm sure people still enjoy them. Good old fashioned rock, if there's such a thing. They toured in 1991 and I saw them in Halifax I was still in high school. I saw them again in 1996 again in Halifax, I was expecting Evan my oldest. Third time in 1999 in Sydney. Fourth and Fifth in 2000 and 2004 respectively. The last time was in 2015, I never expected Nathan would die May 2016. I would say this is my overall long term favorite artist. I have every album, and would see them if they toured near me again. Gord Downie died in 2016 from brain cancer and the band has stopped using "The Hip" being without him. They are still active in separate projects.

Gord has such a wonderful voice. He's brings me such happiness when I listen. I have my whole life, and it's sad he passed away, I know of a few that have in various ways. Such an active performer, engaging the crowd and always singing from his soul. There's those that perform that don't seem to enjoy and then other's those that do. This band always did.

*Monster1* Halloween (1978)
Genre: Horror/Crime
Artists: John Carpenter
Cody Carpenter
Daniel Davies *Monster2*

Children sing this as the movie starts...
*Music2* Black cats and goblins and broomsticks and ghosts,
Covens of witches with all of their hosts
You may think they scare me,
You're probably right
Black cats and goblins
On Halloween night
Trick or treat *Music2**Scared*

I still wasn't around when this movie and it's theme came out, but I do listen to it, and I'm sure there isn't a soul that doesn't know it. I can remember what I was doing the first time I heard this, and out of every movie I've ever seen this rocks, so much so that the later movies kept it. The boogeyman. No instruments used in this and that always blow my mind. It's a tense, nerve jangling score. It sounds wonderful in my car and I lay my leg against the door and feel it. I won't go into what the movie is about, I do hope that you know though. Ever single scary thing will have a clip of this theme it works so well to make me spooked.

John Carpenter wasn't that old when this movie and Movie Theme rocked the Us, and the rest of the world in the next few years. What touches us, is that it can happen anywhere and does. Found this too:

The main thing is that it’s in 5/4 time, an asymmetrical meter. It's got five pulses instead of just a group of two or of three. That's pretty unusual, at least for film music and for mainstream music.

https://www.davidson.edu/news/2022/10/12/somethings-not-right-here-how-music-hal...

I should learn more about music score, as I have another song later on that is something similar, and I know the beat disturbs me, and it's super creepy I don't understand meter in music. Made on a low budget, and so scary and horror is what I enjoy I can't help but add this. To hear horror is to listen to this. Before this and Psycho music for movies was done by orchestra, this is a synthesizer, which you probably know. It's amazing what still can be done with little money. When music is created truly for a purpose and nailed it. The think about Michael he truly stalking and waited for the right moment to kill, and the classics setup of "final girl"

*Music2* Here we stand
Worlds apart, hearts broken in two, two, two
Sleepless nights
Losing ground, I'm reaching for you, you, you…
*Music2*

Artist: Daughtry (Chris Daughtry) and Lizzy Hale
Album: Soundtrack To Summer (2023)
Genre: Pop/Singer/Songwriter/Rap

Journey's famous song, redone. I like the original also but this version with all its small changes in a updated version of the classic. I always get chills listening to this song especially the opening sequence. Head bob away. This is a the Daughtry couple and I think that adds a lot of feeling to it. When people as a couple do a song I always seem to enjoy and dream a little of what it would of felt like to sing with someone you love and bring happiness or sadness or curiosity to all the people enjoying thus song.

I don't know anyone who doesn't know this song, and I think about my teenage years and the things that made me happy then, this song was usually on the radio in my home. Still today the radio go daily all day, I've always done this. I can remember my boys being babies and me holding them fussy, walking up and down my hallway singing this song, trying to not get frustrated by their crying.

Songs like this, so memory driven will always be on my top ten, even though it is totally grunge now.

*Music2* In my mind
I've got it all figured out
But the head
Does not always rule the heart
And I try to place him
Out of body and soul
Just when I thought Id made it
His images start taking their toll
On me
I feel his memory haunting me
Time and Again
I feel weak because *Music2*

Artist: Luba *CountryCA*
Album: Secrets and Sins (1984)
Genre: Alternative/Pop/Rock/Ballet
Lead Singer: Lubomyra Kowalchyk (Ukraine immigrants)
Awards: 3 times Juno Award (1985-87)

*Cry*

This is my go to when I want the remember the sadness. It helps me think I'm not alone, and Luba rocks the lyrics Wow! It's about a failed relationship were one person is truly heartbroken and wants that past again. I see pictures of my boys both alive and dead, and it breaks my heart. No one should have to remember their child through pictures, I have a adorable picture of Jordan and Nathan about 5 and 3 years of age hugging, it one of my favorites, but hard too. No parent should know what their child looks like dead, to say goodnight be the last thing they ever say. No sibling should lose a sister or brother. No grandparents should pick a casket for the grandchild.

Luba sounds sad when she sings this and if your feeling down this can really rock me to the bottom pretty quick.

*Music2* Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watching the puddles gather rain
And all I can do
Is just pour some tea for two
And speak my point of view
But it's not sane
It's not sane

Artist: Blind Melon
Album: Blind Melon(1992)
Genre: Folk/Alternative/Rock/Indie
Lead Vocals: Shannon Hoon

Enjoy!

If there was ever a song written that was just for me, this is it. It's like someone got in my brain and we'll write a song about her. It's a happy song and the guitar, especially the electric is wonderfully. I see so much as what I do and feel sometimes in the lyrics and honestly its such a positive pleasant tune, it stays with me.

The funny romance of two totally different people coming together. Video show a little girl in a bee costume with oversized glassed, feeling very different from other people and somewhat alone, till she finds a feels of fellow bees kids. I can remember playing in the rain as a kid, and my loving lightening. The time when I feel I sleep best it's raining. This is just a great melody, truly is.

To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

Artist: Limp Bizket
Album: Results May Vary(2002)
Genre: Soft Rock/Nu-Metal/Hip-Hop/Rap
Lead Vocals: Fred Durst

As you listen you can hear the lead vocals change, it's amazing. I really enjoy the guitar throughout. Sometimes individual instruments don't stand apart the best, this song they do. I like the simple rap chorus too.

I always liked this and never realized its a "The Who 1971" song. Limp is so known for angry rap and this is a wonderful change. The song is very sad but can be comforting. I wasn't around in 71 so I think that why I like Limp's version better. There are a few remake songs I like more than the originals, and this song has been done by many people. More than I few I guess now I've looked. Simply melody, Fred Durst sang for different groups over the years and has some great calibrations. Just close my eyes and feel sorry for myself, and I do have blue eyes.

Artist: Sarah Mclachlan *Countryca*
Album: Surfacing (1997)
Genre: Alternative/Indie/Pop/Folk
Awards: Juno Award for Best Single of the year (1998)

When I first joined this site way back in 2006 I was loving this song, and much of what I wrote reflected this tune. I still listen to it, it's on my daily Spotify list. It's a beautifully song, great vocals easy to sing along with.

Neat Fact I learned as I wrote this.
On 23 October 2001, "Building a Mystery" became the first song ever publicly played on an Apple iPod. Apple founder, chairman and CEO Steve Jobs selected and played a short portion of the song during the presentation in which he first introduced the iPod to the public.

Poem inspired by this song. "~ Tainted Church~ Revised

I really like the lyrics to this song. It a way to describe the mystery of ourselves. This is a very popular Canadian singer, I really only enjoy this one. bad relationship, secrets, doubt, unrest, all summed up to a kind of sad song that got censored.

And whatsoever I've fought off became my life
Just when everyday seemed to greet me with a smile

Artist: Soundgarden
Album: Superunknown (1994)
Genre: Grunge/Hard Rock/Alternative
Lead Vocals: Chris Cornell

A grunge and psychedelia song. This is on my daily play list and has been for a long time. It's one of those songs you can't really remember how you found it, but I enjoy it and am sure I'll never not. I can remember when he committed suicide, and that mental distress in its worst form. I don't think people can truly understand self harm, what a deep sadness feels like that drags you to the darkest places and hides your soul. I just close my eyes and absorb his voice, the leading guiter at the beginning is strong and passionate.

Artist: Rammstein (ramming stone) 2001
Album: None
Game: Final Fantasy 10
Produced: Square Enix
Genre: Industrial Metal/NDB

Also known as the Sin Battle Theme for Final Fantasy 10.

This is a German band, this is one of their few in English. Rammstein formed in Berlin in 1994.

Vocals: Till Lindemann
Lead Guitar: Richard Kruspe

Why you ask? This is crazy screaming if you can call it music, but enjoyable. I may be small but my music likes are not.

This is the them I listened to over and over for years as I played FF10 with my newborn son Jordan at my feet in a car seat. I played this game so much, I burned the cd out and had to buy it again. It was very popular in 2001, and I had a hard time finding it the second time. I know this tune anywhere. When I listen to it I get aggressive. It helps with exercising, walking even house cleaning when I don't want to. They say FF10 was the Final Fantasy for girls and I agree I still tear up if I see gameplay. I won't go into the game and gameplay, but this song plays as you fight the final boss. The game is dated now, and FF7 is the most famous, but many of the FF games have fantastic music. This is not for everyone and I admit if I never knew the game I probably would of never known of this band. Its stuck to me, I'll never forget it, never not enjoy it, and now so many memories associated with it.

I never knew this back in 2001, but I played a lot of games, still do. I broke a lot of things, I was just a very angry person and never knew it. I find myself saying now that this game and others saved my marriage, I was able to avoid and ignore him. I broke fingers from punching stuff, I swore too much. I look at what I wrote back then and I know why now. I did love him, but he was toxic, and he gives me anxiety now. This tune will be kept when I in a retirement home someday. It helped me on more ways than I care to say. But "Fight on" I did and still do.
