Dedicated to my wonderful daughters, Ashley and Michelle.
[Introduction]
This poem was written to my daughters, Ashley and Michelle, whom have grown and moved away. This poem describes the blessed feelings I had while they were children, the struggles to overcome being without them and the change of lifestyle, the pride and joy of what they have become, and the unconditional love I will always have for them no matter where life takes them.

“A Mother’s Love “
By Misty Welborn

Roses are red;
Violets are blue;
Not a person on this earth will love you as much as I do.

God gave you to me to cherish and love;
I definitely know you were sent from above
You always made my life so complete;
Now I wonder, what life means for me.
Did I teach you this? Did I teach you that?
Sometimes I had to pull things out of my hat.
To show you I loved you and how much I cared;
At times, it was hard but we always fared.
This special bond only mother and daughters do;
I could never express the depth of how much I love you.

Now you are grown and it is time to see;
the sacrifices and teachings through the years, watching you succeed.
It is so hard sometimes, the memories of the past;
I know you are all grown up and I can’t get that back.

My precious daughters, if you only knew;
How much I truly love and adore you.
Your lives are changing so rapidly fast;
I hope you always remember the teaching of the past.
I often wonder and still do today;
Did I give them enough love to help them find their own way?
I love you with every breath I have in me;
Always will no matter what or whom you will be.

For me, a new chapter of life begins;
I am no longer your disciplinarian, but now I am your friend.
Please use the title of mine,” friend” in need;
because your friend I will always be.
We’ve had some ups and downs, but I want you to know;
not once in my life did I ever regret having you in toe.
I hope, my daughters, you know how blessed I am from above;
to be here and watch the beautiful young women you have become.

There isn’t a day that goes by I don’t think of you with love;
and wish you were the children again who invaded my home.
I wouldn’t trade those memories, good and bad;
because those memories taught us, family is all we have.

You have moved on and started your new lives;
make it great, give it your all, remember to LOVE Godly, above all.

Time has taken you away from me; but your mother, who loves you, I will always be.

Forever,
MOM
