To access the edit page for a Document item, click the gear icon at the upper right corner of the item page and choose Edit Item.

Note that the edit procedure for a Document item is to edit the original file on your computer and then upload the file again, or to create a new file on your computer and then upload that file to the item.

There is no "edit in place" function for Document items here on the site, the way you can directly edit Static items that don't use the Complex option for drag&drop.
