Write poetry from prompts just for the fun of it; formal or free verse, you pick.

Prompt #2 1/2
by wordsy

A levy once breached
And now soon to flood
To fill up my mind
With it’s nocturnal mud
The sludge that remains
At the end of the day
That my mind now repeats
And begins to play
Through dreams that seem simple
And harmless at first
And don’t you know suddenly
Take a turn for the worst
To hold me in terror
In fears icy touch
As the images found
Are sometimes too much

as always,
wordsy.

"a thin trail of whispers
across a wandering mind
faint flashes of fantasy
that I often find
merely jaded shadows
of who I used to be
they fill with words, my pages
for all the world to see"
