Ah, but just because they are redeemable does NOT necessarily mean that they will ever seek redemption or do what it takes to obtain it.

It can get boring and feel just as unrealistic if all the bad guys are converted to good. I've seen these too. It's like they're afraid to kill anyone - or maybe they can't bear to have the good guys actually "kill" anyone...
