While yes, I appreciate Picard and his exploits including all the Q-lunacy he was just a bit too uptight. He only ranks in at number 3 on my list, one-upped by Captain Benjamin Sisko a.k.a. The Emissary of the Prophets because in all fairness, nothing Picard or Kirk ever did equaled being imbued with "Jesus" status. Also Picard, with all the perks he had commanding Starfleet's flagship, had it relatively easy compared to the adversities conquered by both Janeway and Sisko respectively and PLEASE don't cite that space cockroach infestation storyline it really WASN'T a Next Gen highpoint... Also, I should say that the judging is based primarily on adventures from each of the show's 4th season onward since most of them were petty corny up until that point. Next Gen, DS:9, and Voyager all had what essentially represented an evolution in storytelling and character development once they respectively hit their 4th seasons. The original series gets an immediate pass because they never made 7 seasons, they were establishing the mythos, and they were vastly limited by the production and special FX techniques of the day. And if anyone really cares why I'm not mentioning ENTERPRISE, it's principally because looking at Captain Archer always elicits QUANTUM LEAP flashbacks where I see him in a dress with lipstick. Sorry, just cannot take him seriously beyond that. Live long and prosper... ---ONYX So where does that leave us...? VOYAGER! VOYAGER! VOYAGER! VOYAGER! And if all BORG females are that sexy than Hell yes, resistance is most definitely FUTILE... |
