Hmm ... Who was the greatest captain and why? Captain Sulu of the Excelsior. Why? Because he helped Kirk and crew, of course! Without him, they'd probably all be dead now! And because no one's said him yet! (Actually, I do think from what little bit we see of his "captainness," he definitely is on my top 3 list.) Oh, you meant one of the main characters from the series? Ok. I'll have to agree ... it's Janeway. Why? Even in the tougest, most confusing of situations, she always did the right thing. She never compromised her beliefs to get something accomplished. Whether it was Q trying to get her to do something for him, or the Kazon, or whatever else was thrown at them, she always took the RIGHT way out, not the easy way out. My second favorite (should I say this out loud?) would have to be Archer. That is, in every season of Enterprise except the third. Why him, and why not the third season? Well, in seasons 1, 2, and 4, he was always running around making peace, helping people out, etc. Ok, sure, everybody else did that too, but I like how he did it best. Ok? . But in the third season, the one in the Expanse with the Xindi, repeatedly he compromised his beliefs, usually to force some information out of somebody about the Xindi. In that season, he was the complete opposite of everything I was just saying about Janeway. That disappointed me. . ~ * ~ * Caren Mackensie Rose * ~ * ~ Live long and prosper. |
