Thanks for your input, I appreciate all the comments I can get!

In reply to your first post, I already have many many notebooks lying around, so I guess I'm already following that advice, albeit in my own way. (I have 2 I take with me everywhere: one for ideas and one for observations. Then I have one for all planning and prewriting, one for excercises to do, one for excersises done, one for 'how to' notes, one for research, one for short stories, and one for longer projects!)

In terms of writing through self-doubt, I think it works for some people, but not for everyone. There does have to be an element of discipline, but I've found that if I force myself to write when I really doubt my ability, it turns out as really bad writing. If I just can't be bothered because I'm feeling lazy, then I start off bad but get better when I get into it, which I always do in that situation. So in that sense self-discipline is important.

As far as muses are concerned, I do find that the act of writing encourages inspiration, i.e. the more you write, the more ideas you get. So if someone's suffering from writer's block in terms of a lack of ideas, I'd always suggest writing something, anything, but again, what works for me may not work for everyone.

Thanks again, and please let me know when you've created an item, so that I can repay you by reviewing it.
