Genre Discussion: Steampunk
In one of the review groups I belong to, Crys-not really here expressed an interest in learning more about different types of genres. I think a lot of us know a great deal about those we dabble in, but not so much about others. For instance, if you're write gothic fiction, you don't neccessarily write about vampires. Fantasy doesn't always mean dragons and knights in shining armor, and science fiction isn't always space opera.

So I'm opening the discussion here - with a new genre every week. The genre of the week is Steampunk. Do you write it? Why? How do you define it? What types of sub-genre's does it support?

Or, do you hear the term all the time and wonder what it is, who reads it, what it's all about?

Use this thread to voice your thoughts, or feel free to start a new one if you'd like to spin a tangent.
