It's simple - You have to write for your readers or get used to being the only one that reads your writing... Readers like action, don't you? I was gutted when I scrapped my first chapter from my novel. It took so long to write, and I loved it! But it got an average three and a half stars in reviews. My new first chapter gets 4.5/5 stars. So as much as it hurt, it was the right thing to do. But I agree, it is VERY hard to change what we like...
