Re: Re: Re: Outlines: Chronology versus Narrative
Personally, I've created a list of activities and duplicated them in a chronological list and outline. I've been playing with numbering items in my timeline, but you could also add date/time to your outline instead. Example (and I'm making this up as I go):

Chronological, Kaleb:
September, scene KA happens
November 15, scene KB happens
November 16, scene KC happens
December 3 at 4am scene KD happens
December 3 at 5am scene KD happens

Chronological, Molly:
September, scene MA happens
November, scene MB happens

etc.

Then my outline might look like this:

Chapter 1
         KA

Chapter 2
         MA

Chapter 3
         KB
         KC

etc.

Alternatively, you could also add the timeline to your outline, which would work really well with the snowflake method, too:

Chapter 1
         KA, September

Chapter 2
         MA, September

etc.

The numbering system that I've been using looks like this:

Chronological, Kaleb:
01-September, scene KA happens
03-November 15, scene KB happens
04-November 16, scene KC happens
December 3 at 4am scene KD happens
December 3 at 5am scene KD happens

Chronological, Molly:
02-September, scene MA happens
November, scene MB happens

etc. I left it deliberately incomplete to show the process. I'm deciding the order of the scenes and then later building them into an outline to determine where to divide chapters.

I'm interested to know what everyone else is doing to add a timeline.

Cheers,
Michelle
