The crack in the mirror ran the length of the glass; splitting Emma's image in two. Reaching out with a tentative hand, she pressed the glass back into place. Her reflection wobbled and shuddered, and the resigned look on her face twisted into an eerie leer as the mirror buckled under her fingers. The left side of the mirror slipped, the glass dropping a fraction of an inch, distorting her reflection even more.
Careful not to let the right side follow suit, Emma manoeuvred the frame away from the bed and closer to the wardrobe - with any luck, the frame could rest against the wardrobe until Derek came home and helped her move the entire mirror out of the house.
