Free to Write

With greasy fingers she reached into the nearly empty bag of potato chips and pulled out the next handful. She was down to crumbs, now, little bits of grease that were barely worth mentioning, but she could see one last chip, nearly whole, in a corner. Upending the bag over her mouth, nothing came out. She whimpered as she reached long fingers in to grab it, and missed. Finally, she ripped the bag apart at the seam, ate the last chip, and then ran her fingers along the greasy edge to get every last crumb before throwing the bag away.

I've heard that the way to make a character unlikable is to show them eating . . . I kept on thinking about that as I wrote this one.
