With greasy fingers, he tightened the last bolt in the steam-powered time machine. Surely, the last fix he had made would allow it to work, unlike the dozen or so previous attempts. With disdain, he looked over at the pile of useless junk he had obtained with the time machine already. Instead of the advanced electronic items he had desired, all he had obtained from the future were useless devices, devices which contained no vacuum tubes at all. Instead, the devices were populated with tiny black parts, parts which he couldn't understand. Everyone in 1915 knew that high tech electronic devices required vacuum tubes. So, he tightened the last bolt, and started building a fire in the boiler. Surely, this time, he would retrieve a useful electronic device from 2015.
