My favorite flowers are orchids. I think they're incredibly beautiful and intricate... and the fact that there are currently over 20,000 recognized varieties (100,000 if you include hybrids) means there's always a new flower to discover. There are roughly the same number of orchid varieties as there are number of fish species, twice as many as the number of bird species, and four times as many as the number of mammal species. Not to mention that one of the varieties of orchid is where we get vanilla from... so these flowers are beautiful AND delicious!
