Re: Eight Days of Silence? Oh My...
Sir,

I always love hearing what you have to say, Eliot, and too, reports of the excellent things that others have said.

In my youth I read voraciously. Then I got busy surviving and that had to nearly stop. Lately, my job allows me to listen to books that I could never have the time to read. It is like a. . . like being young again. So I read/listened to the World Without End by Ken Follet. It was screwed-up, interesting, frustrating, long. I was irritated by the reality in that work. Nobles are jerks, I was shattered by what happened to serfs, ignorance was brutally heartbreaking.

I'm enjoying Lois McMaster Bujold's Sharing Knife series much more, but I think I learned a lot about feelings, fictional peoples, real peoples and my own read/listening to Follet too.

Have you run across Bujold? You seem to have a pretty wide.... net, but running across the 6 time Hugo and Nebula Award winner not named Heinlein was a pleasant surprise.

Well, that's it. I got noth'n else.
