I write poems based around ideas from movies all the time, but they are rarely recognizable as such. Like "Invalid Entry" , for instance, came about because of a line from Earth Girls Are Easy, of all the stupid things. She has a line in the movie that is something like, "I fed them Pop Tarts and now we're friends". That spawned the candy necklace bit... which is how the entire piece originated.
I don't think I've ever done it for a show... or made it clear what the original reference was. I might have to give it a try!
