The punishment should be what it is for spitting in someone’s face. I think that’s assault in most states. Catching someone doing that I’d spend EVERY effort to get them arrested.
If I caught my teen doing it I’d tell them how disappointed I was in them, that I thought them capable of much more than that and if they did it again I’d report them to the police too. I have 6 kids, 3 of each kind, but the youngest is 42. It’s the grand kids now and I’m not around them as much as I’d like.
