Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Blind Poll Ta...
I'm not saying they should be believing in magical doppelgangers and the facts as they've presented themselves do paint Will in a bad light. But for me, the big sticking point is that "Will" likely should have been in trouble from the get go for skipping and thus it probably should have immediately been shut down. The school isn't going to let students waltz in and out during school hours in most situations. If "Will" needed this assignment so bad, he could have called his mother and had her bring it up. I mean she's a homemaker (it seems at least) but that doesn't mean she's confined to the home and likely runs errands during the day so surely that's something she could do.

But ignoring that, I feel like if the time that "Will" shows up is lunchtime instead of nine-thirty, then things work much better. After all, that's probably the one time during school hours a student would be able to come and go. Will, of course, doesn't go anywhere (he's busy eating with Rachel and friends) but it's not unreasonable that "Will" could show up at his house then either.

It also probably makes more sense for Will's father as well. I could see him agreeing to come out and look at Will's truck on his lunch break, not so much leaving work. Rather, I feel like it'd be the opposite where he'd shut it down and tell his wife and/or son that he can be there after work, not during, and then grouse about Will needing to keep up on making sure his vehicle is properly maintained.

Though an interesting thought/theory did occur to me as well. Obviously there's some kind of attempt to keep tabs on Will by Chelsea or whoever and obviously there's a mask of him that they have. At this point in the book, they should be at the golem mask spell. Well, what better way to keep watch on him than by heading home as him and replacing his parents with obedient golem slaves and put him in a situation where he'd be more under their thumb? Though that's just a bit of fun guessing as it's almost certainly wrong.
