It could also be a fringe character that isn’t well know like an underclassman. Or it could be someone else acting on a brain band of someone has a crush on Will.
It could be as simple as someone used the band on Cassie or someone else with the hopes of having an easier time through classes only to find that they couldn’t control the urge from the brain band.
I would say it is kind of how Patterson and other stronger personalities really shine through whenever Will is them.
