Lindsay was riding back home after school with her mother. It was another rough day, another girl in her class was bullying her because of her height. Each day the bullying continued, and today had been the worst day by far. Lindsay's bully, Isabella, had called her a “tall freak” and an outcast in front of the whole class. Lindsay was hurt by Isabella's comments and started to cry during class, but she quickly covered it up before anyone could notice. She hated school. She hated Isabella. She wished she could just stay home and play sick forever.
“How was school, Lindsay?” her mother asked.
“Oh… it was fine, school is so much fun!” Lindsay said through a fake smile, trying not to remember what had happened between her and Isabella.
“That’s wonderful,” her mother exclaimed. “I’m glad you’re having fun!”
The car pulls into the driveway of their house. Lindsay grabs her backpack and brings it with her into the house. She runs to her room and throws her backpack on the ground. She jumps up on her bed and begins to cry softly, still not over what Isabella had said earlier that day. She eventually calms herself down and says to herself:
“I wish I could be bigger to scare Isabella… then she’d leave me alone!” she whispered to herself.
