OK a few ideas here

1. People with super powers are random but girls suspiciously seem to end up stronger

2. Alien substance enters water supply, males unaffected while women are getting strong.

3. All the male virgins in the world get powers. Having sex transfers that power to the woman.

4. Super powered Aliens amoung humans. More of a culture story than the other Alien story. Like if krypton had a trade system with earth although it doesn't need to be so friendly.
