A girl travels to Canada, to school and leaves behind a very close friend. Over time they lose contact and both get on with their lives. Adel develops a career in Canada, Charlie, in Nevada.
Her adopted family decide on her twenty second birthday that it was left to them to nudge her towards getting into a relationship - they're Spanish actually. In a surprise package, they bring them back together, and her organized world begins to disintegrate.

On the other hand, her company is involved in some fraud, and the people responsible are trying hard to get her out of the way, so they wont be discovered. He is there to protect her and dig in. It is both simple and complex - their getting back together after about five years or more from each other, before which they had been inseparable.
They survive, the culprits are found, and they get an unexpected windfall.
