Letter from the editor

Half of Writing.com had been busy with Game of Thrones this past month and the other half couldn't wait for it to be over. *Bigsmile* Now, that we're back to regular schedule, contests and activities are seeing much more action, which is great news!

There will always be times where one activity or another may not be as busy as the host hopes. Sometimes, you have to be pushy, add some incentive to it to get the crowd excited. Don't feel bad about bribing people in order to get them to participate. Anything's fair. Post about the activity or contest on the newsfeed every other day or at least once a week to remind people that it's still there.

Some hosts will give away Gift Points just for participating. That is a deal no one can turn down. You don't have to win and you still get something for your efforts and trying your hand at something. However, as a host, be mindful of how much you give away. Even though you want people to jump on the band wagon and get creative, you're also limited with the rewards most days since it does require a decent size in GPs to reward the winners at the end of each round.

With the WdC Sweet 16 party approaching, there will be plenty to get involved in. Remember to help out as well if you can in any way. Being a guest judge for any contest can be quite fun, challenging, and an honor. Not to mention, you can help the host spread the word around the site and it will attract more writers to it.

We love to see new things on the site, don't be afraid to parade those goodies in front of us! We'll stop by!

'til next time!
~ Gaby *Witchlegs1*
