The "Who-cares" Baseball Classic

Let me ask you one question. In one minute tell me everything you know about the 1st World Baseball Classic. Are you stumped? Well if you are then you are in company with millions. The World Baseball Classic is a great way to get the whole world involved in baseball but why on Earth would you put the tournament base in the one country that just doesn't care,USA. Not too many Americans give a damn about this World Baseball Classic just like how we feel about the Olympics nowadays. Us americans just aren't interested in the WBC because it doesn't do one thing for americans,show players playing with heart in fact the tourney should be played in another country that's supposed to feature the best baseball countries in the world but to us here in the good ole US of A we see it as a top notch bunch of pros wining and eventually leaving because the don't want to get hurt. The only reason we hate stuff like this is because when you get a bunch of self-egoed players worried about the millions they won't really care about playing for their country for a small price making them feel like this is pointless. Now I admit that there are some exceptions like Derek Jeter but for the most part they couldn't give a damn. Now in the basketball part of the summer Olympics in Athens we Bronze Medaled because of a combo of a bunch of rich NBA stars not caring and other countries just being better as now more countries than ever before have pro NBA players so that does take away the USA advantage. The one professional sport that has world tourneys like this right is hockey. Hockey has always had the best world tourneys because of the passion and flow of the games. When the hockey teams go out there they play with such passion and heart that they couldn't care how ,much $$ they would make because as long as they got a medal their goal and their dream has been realized and maybe if Basketball and Baseball players especially had the same personalities as hockey players in the world tourneys then maybe us americans would enjoy the WBC a lot more.
