Life passing by
 WHAT A WASTE  (E)
Life passing by
#1137314 by SHERRI GIBSON

Never stopped long enough to smell the roses
Life just passing by
What a waste

Missed seeing the rising of the sun,
And the loveliness of a starlit sky
What a waste

Failed to notice the tiny squirrel as it darted up a tree
Failed to see the numerous people wanting friendship
What a waste

Never observed the beauty of the leaves changing into fall colors
Never paused long enough to notice our beautiful Earth
What a waste

Didn’t see how swiftly life was passing
Always in a hurry to notice anything save rush hour traffic
What a waste

Age coming rapidly, and the years too
Never stopped to smell the roses before demise
What a waste
