i wrote this about my nephew who had rocky mountain spotted fever when he was 1.
My Son
My son turns three today as I remember everything we've been through I fight back the tears. We've spent so much time in the hospital.Watching you slip away and then start to fight back.I remember praying all day and all night.I still pray a lot just not as much anymore. The worring never stops though.Even when I know you are safe in your bed I still lie awake worring and praying.Hoping nothing bad will ever happen to you again. As I watch you playing with your friends.I have to learn to not come running whenever you fall, but you don't know how hard that is.
Wow in 3 months you turn 6. You started kindergarden this month. Its so hard to believe how fast you are growing up. I can still remember the day you were born. I remember holding you in my arms and thinking about how cute you would grow up to be. You definitely proved me right about that. Its seems so strange when I think back to all the time you spent in the hospital. I still can't stop myself from running when you fall. You're learning how to ride your bicycle but I can never watch because I'm liable to have a heart attack. I'm so scared you'll fall off and get hurt. My worrying continues as the days go by and you grow older. Who would believe how far you've come in your short life.
