something that i wrote a long time ago, but still has a lot meaning in it.
The cigarette burns away as she watches. She can almost see her life burning away in the same way. She waits for a sign to tell her it is finally her chance. Her first choice; go on living her life with the hurtful stares, nasty whispers, and the incessant ticking of the clock. Living with the lies laced with jealousy, and never knowing the truth. Her second; living a life or reluctant happiness, and regret that will eat away at her conscience. This is it, the end of the line. Are you able to say that you are okay with your life, and would it be any bit truthful if you did? Her cigarette burns out and she knows she must decide. She asks herself one last question. "Am I prepared to lay at rest with unlived lives flowing through my veins?"

I think not.
