Yearning for a renewal of simpler times
Wouldn't it be delightful
to go for a sleigh-ride
all bundled up in down
holding your beloved's hand
while the driver let the horses
run freely, galloping away with you?

On the night of a full moon
how the swirling crystals,
so splendid and unique
would flow upon and around you -
alighted by that moon and ignighted
with the love from your joyful, open hearts.

Wouldn't it be wonderful?...

To slow to a pace when the pennies
in your pocket are still worth something
as you fly by, showering them upon your friends
and your strangers, like a living well of wishes...

How splendid it would be!

You'd have a pot and cups
filled with steaming cider
when you got to the place
where the poorer ones huddled
You'd give them the warmth
to fill their bellies, and prayers
that you'd know would soon be answered

The horses eventually would carry you home
and you'd love and you'd melt as children
would laugh, popping corn by the fire
and you'd share sweet kisses when no one saw
but the children, who would impishly grin.

No, we cannot go back to a point in time
when most of our parents were not yet even born.
But we can learn from when, and yearn for then
to be made again as now.  ...

When trees grew in forests like blades of grass
before grasses made up a lawn -
and forgiveness was easier when
you never could know that from disease,
your beloved could tomorrow be gone.

Let us take from the past, causing no harm
and stop taking from the present so insatiably.
Let our monies be just as pennies for the poor
and let us all BE equally.
