Wanderings on preserving childhood innoscence
To you whose youth is passing beyond your fingers,
but for whom the heart of the child still lingers
take up your sacred armor from the dusty dungeons of your mind
And set out into the world, adventures to find
Your service dedicated to the preservation of the Kingdom of the Child-Heart
To you has been given the Protector-Hand, your banner to fly as you ride
Sir or Lady, the quest is the same, to keep corruption from the young
They are the future, the walls from which the tapestries of the past are hung
Your Child-Heart lies somewhere in the abyss of Lost Time
In suspended animation, free from corruption, safe from crime
When a child looks to you for comfort, relief from some oppression,
Do you tell them to grow up, causing another twisted generation
of people who just grew up too fast in lawlessness or chains.
Anarchy and nit-picky tyranny, humanities greatest banes.
“Who are you to judge our methods of rearing our sons and our daughters?”
This world is cruel, if only they could see how many Child-Hearts it slaughters.
