A poem I wrote when I was a teenager based on a runaway.
PLEASE REVIEW! Please remember this poem was written between 1984-1986. It is part of a collection of teenage poetry I would like to get published. I would like to collect an array of poetry written by teenagers, to fill my book "End of the Innocence".

LITTLE GIRL, GO HOME

Little girl go home
Stop your foolish pride
You’re out here all alone
You have nowhere to hide

Lost, cold and tired
In the darkness of the night
Drunk, stoned or wired
Not knowing wrong from right

Little girl go home
You’re going nowhere fast
No matter where you roam
You’ll always end up last

You have no place to go
When it’s cold and starts to rain
The people you now know
Can’t help you stop the pain

Little girl go home
You have no food to eat
You have no clothes to wear
Or bed in which to sleep

You rob and steal and lie
For your costly deadly need
Living for one more high
With friends – beer, pot and speed

Now you’re lying dead in the rain
And you died out here alone
You’re the only one to blame
‘Cause little girl you didn’t go home
