For the winters in our lives...
falling white fleece enrobes me in softening grace
it kisses my delicate fragility and
softens the (arguably diamond) soul in me
carefully penetrating images of you

slideshow scenes flicker across my vision
silence except for the emptiness of the sky
trees melt into shade while the white still whirls around
(you would have savored ev'ry minute of this day)

blank down, i am all but swallowed
everything comes fast, as shooting through the stars
and I am dizzy with sights of you blazoned
across the sky the color of your eyes
everywhere, it is your voice that is calling me
i pour myself out onto the stainless ground
as my legs fold under me (elegantly)
and my head rests on the cotton white

i am floating on heaven and you smile above
i smile too; i slowly unravel until i
am a puddle of unwound hopesdreamsfearsloveshates
falling white fleece entombs me in softening grace
