The season of change.
I long for the autumn to return in its whispery embrace,
I long to feel again the chilling wind caress my hair
And welcome home my soul.
Only then will I feel complete as I walk amongst golden leaves
And foliage of the warmest colours.
I long for those darkened nights when I can smile and wrap up warm
And remember all that used to be.
This is my time for melancholy and contemplation.
This is my only chance.

I long for the autumn to return, my favourite time of year.
And I long to feel sanity pull at the edge of my mind
And to hopefully clear away the pain.
Maybe this time the cool breeze
And the warm colours will change the way I feel
In the way that everything else changes.
I’ll sit and watch the insects crawl around me as
I long to remember how everything used to be.

I long for the bittersweet taste of chestnut air and fog,
I long to close my eyes and sink into this feeling
And hopefully to drift away.
I’m here to contemplate the reason for our existence
To regret, to forget and to remember.
Maybe this autumn breeze will change me
Or everything else the way I wanted it to.
Maybe this time everything will work out in the right way.
This is the last chance.
Until next time.
