“Is he your boyfriend?” “No, just a dancing partner.”
Feet can’t keep still.
Toes tap to the beat of the song we wrote today.
Sit with my boyfriend,
And I can’t keep still.
I just want to dance to the rhythm of your words all night.
Get up, hips start to sway,
Back and forth to the beat of
‘You are special’
The sound rings sweetly in my ears.
Hands up, slowly tracing your name on the ceiling.
My boyfriend tries to pull me back down,
Tries to hold me there,
But I’m already spinning faster,
Rising higher,
Pulling away from his grip.
“Is he your boyfriend?”
“No, just a dancing partner.”
“But you don’t dance.”
“I never had a reason to until now.”
