a day in summer
Shimmering leaves and creaking boughs,
white clouds sail the blue beyond.

Daffodils dancing in the noonday sun,
avian arias in the distant sound.

Cattails nodding in a lapping pond,
welcome rill's respite in a journey long.

Sitting in the warmth of Summer's sun,
my healing heart sings out in song.
