A dark storm is hanging

her self doubt is building

so many questions in her head



Reality releasing its truth

an emotional down pour

of things that need to be said



She must open her eyes

and fully accept

all that they can see



Behold, is her man

now being driven

to be all that he can be



She gets to have and hold him

give him a heartfelt embrace

he is her Army of one



She knows the cost of our freedom

proud together we all stand

soldiers do not duck and run



His eyes are forever open

watching for the enemy

protecting the safety gate



So derserving of his precious woman

proud and strong enough

to nurture all of his hate



He must always be fully aware

lusting for the enemies blood

so that he can survive



Thankful for the love he has

his training survival trait

will all keep him alert and alive



An order to kill on command

is an ugly power

only a few have known



It bears a silent burden

within a soldier's heart

who must suffer alone



Her beating heart is desperate

she has to sit and she has to wait

as long as she possibly can
