A collection of poems written about sadness, anger, and enlightenment.
A collection of poems written over a few weeks dealing with the roller coaster of emotions felt as a daughter experienced anger, sadness, and the beginning of enlightenment. I don't know how far this might go, but for now these are the poems written so far.

The stand alone, but together trace a story of my own small emotions in this world of pain and joy, dark and light.

O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is discord, harmony.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sorrow, joy.

Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life

-Saint Francis of Assisi

Learning by experience often is painful- and the more it hurts, the more you learn.

-Ralph Banks

Perfect love is rare indeed - for to be a lover will require that you continually have the subtlety of the very wise, the flexibility of the child, the sensitivity of the artist, the understanding of the philosopher, the acceptance of the saint, the tolerance of the scholar and the fortitude of the certain.

-Leo Buscaglia

Do not judge from mere appearances; for the lift laughter that bubbles on the lip often mantles over the depths of sadness, and the serious look may be the sober veil that covers a divine peace and joy. The bosom can ache beneath diamond brooches; and many a blithe heart dances under coarse wool.

-Edwin Hubbell Chapin

Between
Our birth and death we may touch understanding
As a moth brushes a window with its wing.

-Christopher Fry
