A Wedding Story: A Wedding in the Year 2048

It is a beautiful day for such a blessed and joyful event for Trista and Lewis. Both of them have dreamt of this day since they each left their birth pod in June of 2025. Trista’s mother, Filicent, wouldn’t be with them today to share their glorious occasion. Filicent had lost her life in trying to hatch Trista. However, Filicent still spoke with Trista through the telepathic links they exchanged before Filicent went away to the next galaxy to be with the other souls who’ve passed on to the next plane.

Trista has the most elegant item for the wedding ceremony. It is a 15-carat, diamond studded necklace that, when a certain gem is touched, would open into an immaculate, flowing fiber optic, crystal gown. Filicent is proud of her daughter’s choice.

Lewis is a very handsome man who thinks the world of Trista. He is nervously pacing the clear glass floor of the cathedral, which he’d been doing so often during the past few weeks. There’d been so much planning and practicing for this day. He didn’t like being in front of so many people, but he’d do practically anything for Trista. He is wearing a sleek, shiny new uniform that he meticulously picked out for this occasion. This uniform is from his uncle and is from 2010 period --- after the turmoil in Iran and Iraq had ended. It’s a time that he’s often heard about from his grandfather and his father.

Both Lewis and Trista had made sure that enough oil had been purchased for the bots that are in their bridal party and that the climate control is just right for everyone, including the droids. The dome over their city is sparkling clean and they can clearly see all the flying vehicles overhead. The sun is shining brightly and the birds are singing their beautiful songs. It is a wonderful sight to see.

Everyone is in position for their ceremony to begin. The guests have arrived and are all on their clear pedestals. The Reverend Elliot is standing at the front of the cathedral facing the front door on his floating stand with Lewis to his left. Trista comes down the center aisle in her crystal gown, wearing her diamond necklace, gliding on her moving stand. As she gets to the front to greet her groom, she gazes lovingly at Lewis and mentally communicates her vows to him, and Lewis reciprocates. The guests are touched as tears glistened in their eyes. The ceremony is beautiful. Trista and Lewis then glide off into their future together starting in the year 2048.
