A thankful shout~out.
I must admit my shame for not reflecting on all I have to be grateful for more often. However, I am delighted to take this seasonal opportunity to recognize the truly glorious surroundings I am in the midst of.

I would like to dedicate my celebration of appreciation to my friends. I actually have many, as difficult as that is for me to believe. As I think about each one, I am somewhat shocked, but nonetheless convinced, that our friendships are pure. The fortress I built around myself many years ago is quite thick and sturdy and practically impenetrable; those who fought their way through must be genuine.

I would be completely lost in this world if it were not for my friends; mentally, physically, and emotionally lost. But with help from each one, I am surviving through this life I have created for myself.

Mom, Doug, Fran, Jennifer, James, Theresa, Melody, Mo, Stacy, Holly, Anne ~ I can never thank you enough for forging your way through my steel frame, for looking below my surface and discovering the real me, and for still wanting to be my friend once my secrets were revealed. I know I am not the most pleasant person to be around; I am cynical, un-trusting, and always on guard. Each one of you deserves a plaque made of pure gold for putting up with me and all my twisted ways of thinking. I love each one of you very much and am truly blessed for having you in my life.
