the coldness of the air did not compare to the chills that ran through her heart.
At one time Mary was warm, caring and beautiful, she saw the good in everything.. then life got the best of her, so young but so much to worry about, her father lost his job, leaving her to feed the family, but jobs were scarce and money was tight, after years in the same house, it was taken away, so off to the other side of the country she went. No friends, no firmiliar face except the family that came with. After months of lonliness mary was scared, she lost her mind and became cold. She no longer saw the good in life and focused on just what was in front of her.. the worst that life could bring. Mary could no longer hold it in or control her cruel thoughts, snapping at her loved ones because she had nobody to talk to, no reassurance, no control. Her father constantly asked her why she never spoke a word anymore, but she continually ignored responding. She felt herself slipping, she felt her hope fading, no longer a reason to wake in the morning, no longer a reason to smile. The only way she could escape her own thoughts was by going insane. She knew things weren't right, she knew things weren't healthy in her own mind. Spending her days working and her nights hiding in her room, simply just staring at the ceiling because there was nothing else she could do. She wished more than anything she had a friend to talk to, all she wanted was someone to give her a hug and say everything will be ok.

3 AM, She cannot sleep, the house is quiet, the air is cold. She walks down the hallway, her thoughts race so fast that she cant remember where she is going. She sits back down on the floor and takes a deep breath. Inside her heart, deep down, she is crying for help, a tear runs down her cheek, she starts crying so hard that she becomes sick and has to run to the bathroom. She looks in the mirror, her eyes are glossy and red, her face is pale, her skin is tired. This is not who I am, she thought. But she was at the point of no return, she wanted to run, she wanted to scream, she wanted someone to save her, she wanted to just do anything! Her fear turned into anger, her thoughts were no longer in her control, mary picks up the razor blade on the sink and cuts her arm rapidly and without pause. Over and over and over again. Tears streaming down her face, blood draining down her arm on to the floor, She is in an emotional rage, she cannot feel the cuts because the emotional pain is much stronger. Her breathing slows down, her heart is no longer pounding as fast, she stops. Her mind starts to take in what she has done and she looks at all the blood and she screams, falls to the ground and cries.
