A little writing about a guy and a girl and all he can think about is her.
Call Me Call Me

Dylan Barbee

When I close my eyes all I see are images that come and go nothing stays still, I wonder what to do, where to go, and how to escape. I can hear it but I cannot find it I look left to right then right to left. There isn’t anything at all, I keep looking and waiting for a sign but all I hear is a distant sound. What is that sound, where is it coming from? I stumble forward then I see your face. I try to run as hard and far from it but no matter where I go there you are right behind me staring. I finally trip and reach my arms out to brace the fall which is useless; I keep falling and falling then just before I hit a growing light. I look over and there is the sound I heard the phone is ringing but it isn’t you. Eventually I fall back asleep only to start this all over but now in a near total void where all I see is you and the flashes start coming. There we are when we first met 7 years ago when we both looked so young and free. Now is the time when we went to that amusement park and we got separated and thought we lost each other for good. There you are in your white dress standing up at the alter but you didn’t go through with it and we talked for hours while you tried to make sense of what to do. I don’t know this one the only things I see are you sitting there thinking with your phone in hand; I want to tell you to call me please just call me but you wouldn’t hear it. I open my eyes and pick up my phone and dial your number and then my phone rings and it’s you and all I can say is “I was hoping you would call me, I love you and I know this now more than ever that is why I stood beside you though everything and I hope you feel the same way too.” She starts to answer but then I wake up and realize it was all just a dream.
