Why do Ii even bother turning it on?

I don't know, maybe I like it,

Maybe I like seeing the pain and strife,

The ending or ruining of innocent life.

After all, it’s not like it’s anything new

Because there is never anything new on the news.

We all mumble about how bad it is

But none of us ever try to stop this shit.

All the gang kids doing drugs and each other,

The little boy who got pissed and blew up his brother,

None of this is new news to me,

And why would it be?

There's never anything new on the news.

We let our young ones watch it

Don't think it'll hurt 'em none to see it

Why not? It’s just the news, they lose interest fast

But that doesn't mean the images don't last.

Some prostitute, face down in the street

Some fancy business man, his sins laid bare at his feet.
