War's A Bitch, Wear A Helmet: Chapter 4

'Hey beautiful.' I gently said. She smiled, which at that time was one of my only pleasures at the time of this grueling tour. I shrugged out of my sleeping bag and kissed Janet gently on her cheek.'Get some rest' I whispered to her. She smiled again, and made her way to her own sleeping bag. I made my way out to the entrance of the cave. I just realized that an overwhelming smell of feces filled the air and assaulted my nose. 'Ughhhhh, Jeeeeeesuussssss.' I moaned.
'Oi, boss, you okay?' Charlie's strong English accent filled the cave.
'Ugh. Yeah, i'm alright Charlie, it's just this smell.... ughhhhhh.' I sickly replied.
'Hehe, you'll get used to it boss.' he chuckled in reply.
Suppressing a strong urge to puke, I ran to the fresh air outside. I breathed deeply for several seconds, allowing the fresh mountain air to fill my lungs.

Suddenly, I heard a sharp whine through the air, and i instantaneously ducked behind a boulder, just a fraction of a second later, a bullet scraped the wall where my head would have been moments earlier. I cautiously peeked over the boulder to see where the sniper was, and i was rewarded with another bullet whizzing above my head. Shit! I got on my radio. 'Guys, need a little help here, a sniper's got me pinned down! I need help ASAP!' I shouted. I heard another high pitched whine, but it was different than the sniper fire i was receiving...Hmm... Sounds like....OH FUCK. 'MORTARS!' I screamed. THOMPHHH! A mortar exploded on the clifface about 80 meters up the mountain. Another whine made itself heard, but this seemed much closer... Oh shit, not agaTHOMPHHH....
