Another class writing prompt, inspired by Sandra Cysnaros's The House on Mango Street
I'm from old oak trees, ice cold creeks, and dirt roads that you don't know
From climbing and screaming and playing
From the city lights, and old paved roads of Georgia's busy days
The downtown streets of Winder, Monroe, and Athens.
Me, Im from many places

I'm from the prettiest brown hair, and softest brown eyes
From working until she can't anymore just for us
I'm from the warmest embrace and marvelous laughter
From a calculating stare and do you need to talk about it

Im from the greatest memories of laughter and playing
From don't be afraid to do what you do, forget them
From the coldest hospital room and don't leave me daddy
From waking up after monthes, and he's finally home
From I'm sorry Daddy, I want to help, but don't forget I love you

I'm from Georgia's summer skies, with fishing, fighting and fun
From a family of confusion but thicker then blood or water
I'm from the ideas of freedom, family, and love
