The rhythm of rocking back/forth, thunderstorms or playing a rhythm on guitar relaxes me.

Oh God, please…just let me find my rhythm
Let me find that little piece to hold on to
That motion, that calm, the peace that I can grasp
Please, Lord. Let me find my rhythm.

I rock with the wind as the storm blows in
I see the flashes in the clouds
I ask, send me
The gentle rocking peace
To settle my nervous brain and aching heart.

Where? What happened to the rhythm?
Why? And how? Did it leave so soon?
Let me, Lord, find that rhythm, settle me to the ground
Let me some comfort in the moon.

The motion, the rocking, eases the strain
Allows my body to be in peace.
The storm blows in, cooling the hot night air
And I know that all hell will break loose soon
Let the jitters let go, break free my nervous brain.

Let the storm roll through me like a sieve
Easing the aching, the tension held within
I rock for comfort, and when in pain
the rhythm…rhythmic allows me to focus on life again.

There it is, the rocking, the motion sets me free
The rocking, the rhythm, stimming they say…
Stimulating my senses once again
Back and forth, it comforts me, holds me to the ground
Now I know, Lord, that I’m safe and sound.

I feel my feet touch the ground
My nervous brain focuses, I have control
My aching heart is at rest, as the storm blows in
Through me, I wait per chance to see the moon.

I am calm now.
I’m at peace.
I can feel once again.
Once again, Lord, I have my rhythm.
