The narrow track to salvation

The long perilous journey down a narrow track in the midst of a desert abyss is bleak. Faith, the only aid strengthening a weakened soul on his path towards a dimming light fading gradually; tormented by dark elusive creatures with malevolent intentions, promising an easier route.
A series of thunderous storms, darken the skies, breaking through the desolate empty landscape, coming in from both sides, form quickly to divert unsure travellers away from their destination.
Desiccated remains of previous treasure-seekers lie dead along the side of the track; all aiming for the same goal, but failing. Falling to the forbidden fruits tethered with writhing serpents.
The faded light of a golden beacon, a ray of hope, lies faintly on the horizon far in the distance. A righteous young man, divulging his existence to a greater power, stands gazing out over the sandy dunes at the prize blinking lightly through the wavering heat. He diverts through the many obstacles that lie ahead; many temptations to stray him from his destiny.
A lone Oasis waits slightly further ahead. A small group of palm trees shadowing a glittering pond. An alluring mirage with false hopes and promises made to lure the young man away from his chosen path.
After years of leading a wholesome pure life, under the reign of his ultimate idol, he reaches his goal. A chequered flag waves and he touches light through darkness. Complete. His treacherous journey now over. He rests, comforted by loved ones, knowing the hazardous track is far behind, a fading memory growing dimmer and a new life begins.
